Remove Wnad-It'S No Joke
These days anything you do online requires caution. Gone are the days of the not-for-profit cyberspace fun. Everyone has an agenda. They are selling, promoting, buying, leasing, and giving away stuff everywhere. You want to hear the latest joke for free? Ha! Nothing is free anymore. Take the website twistedhumour.com as an example. The site claims to provide free jokes and games, but what you actually get is an unfriendly piece of spyware called Wnad. Wnad is attached to a free download from a game called "Yo Mama, Osama."
If capitalizing on terrorism isn't enough to turn you away, then you might want to know that this funny little game uploads the Wnad spyware with it for free. The twistedhumour website is filled with a ton of not so funny jokes that take forever to upload. You're better off looking elsewhere. If you are looking for free games to play, it is important to keep in mind that these almost always come bundled with harmful adware and spyware.
After you have downloaded the game, pop-ups will start to appear. You may start noticing them even when you don't have a browser window open. Wnad is designed to run in the background once you start your computer. Wnad slows down the function of your computer and can eventually lead to a system crash if you don't catch it early enough.
Wnad is notorious for resetting the browser homepage. The spyware watches every move that you make and sells it to third party advertisers. What these people do with the information is of no concern to Wnad or twistedhumour. The main objective is to sell your private information to people who will aggressively market their products. It is hard to track what purposes your browsing history is used for. You may find yourself the victim of identity and credit fraud.
You can remove this program manually, but I don't advise it. You are better off finding an anti-spyware program that will remove it and protect you in the future from programs like Wnad. This way the next joke you find, won't be on you!
